| Short Statement | I am a recent Textiles Graduate who has been specialising in the research, design and development of a broad range of textile concepts for surface patterns and textures for the home, fashion and accessories to car interiors and exteriors. I have been pursuing my interest in Textiles since school and have enjoyed learning and developing as a designer. In addition to my course work, I have developed a high range of transferable skills to better my career and knowledge of the Textile Industry through a series of employment opportunities and internships: I learnt about the design and manufacturing side of ladies fashion through working as a ‘Sample Cutter’ at “Velmore” in Ellesmere Port, Wirral who produce sample garments for high street stores.Over the summer of 2010 I worked at “Walt Disney World” in Florida for 11 weeks in ‘Costuming’ in EPCOT Wardrobes assisting DISNEY characters and cast members. This included the manufacture and maintenance of the Disney character costumes. I worked along side Buyers at Matalan Head Office in Skelmersdale where I gained a better understanding of the Buyer’s job role |
